July 2016 – Calder Capital, LLC is very pleased to announce the successful sale of Gun Lake Rentals, LLC of Wayland (Barry County), Michigan to individual investors, Arya and Austin Khoshnegah. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2003 by Alex Cazala, Gun Lake Rentals quickly grew from simply renting boats and pontoons to offering rentals of an array of watercraft including boats, jet-skis, kayaks, etc. and additionally providing training/instruction, indoor and outdoor boat storage, winterizing, pre-season care and the sale of various boating accessories.
Addressing his interest in selling the operation, Mr. Cazala noted that, “with consistent 10-15% annual growth, the business was really startingto take off! While I’m extremely pleased to witness such success, the operation of the company was starting to constrain my time to the extent that I desired to find a successor that could focus attention and bring additional resources. I’ve had a great run at the helm, and am now very happy to see a motivated father/son team step in to captain the company to the next level!”
Max Friar, Managing Partner of Calder Capital, LLC, who’s firm represented Gun Lake Rentals and sourced the buyer, noted that the pace of small business transactions has been brisk during the spring and summer of 2016. “We have experienced record deal flow during Q2 & Q3 of 2016. I am very grateful to my team and our wonderful clients and buyers. Without them, none of this would be possible.” Friar anticipated continued strong deal flow for the balance of the year. “Our pipeline of sellers coming to market remains very robust. Beyond an anticipated and temporary slowing due to the Holidays, I do not see any signs of a slow down based on macroeconomic factors on the horizon,” he affirmed.
